(Girls born August 31, 2016 and later)

Our Developmental Softball program is designed to give young athletes a strong foundation in the sport while keeping the experience fun, supportive, and focused on growth. At this level, our priority is teaching the core fundamentals of the game—how to throw properly, how to catch properly, how to field a ball, and how to hit with confidence. We aim to build skills step-by-step so every player can learn at her own pace while developing a genuine love for softball.

6U Division  (Girls born August 31, 2018 and later)

The 6U division introduces players to the basic structure of the game in a simple, encouraging environment. The focus is on learning how to play: understanding positions, practicing essential skills, and gaining comfort on the field. Games will be a mix of coach pitch and hitting from a tee to help build confidence. Teams will play against surrounding communities, giving players the chance to experience games in a low-pressure, development-centered setting.

8U Division (Girls born between August 31, 2016 and September 1, 2018)

In the 8U division, players begin taking the next step in their softball development. While we continue to emphasize the core fundamentals, this level introduces a deeper understanding of the game. Athletes will start learning about making plays, knowing where the out is, covering bases, and developing the awareness needed to think through the game as it happens.

All games in 8U will be coach pitch, and players will advance to traditional three-out innings. Teams will compete with surrounding communities as part of our league play, and the focus remains on player development, learning, and having fun. Our goal is to prepare players for whichever path they choose next—fast pitch, slow pitch, or both—by building their skills, confidence, and understanding of the game.

The Mt. Lebanon Girls Softball Association is a non-profit organization committed to providing girls the opportunity to play softball as an organized recreational activity and to promoting good sportsmanship in all association-sponsored activites. Through the efforts of our many volunteers, we offer softball programs in both fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball.
